Lori Youden, BScPT, CAFCI

Lori established PhysioLink Porters Lake in 1994.
She graduated from Dalhousie University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She continued her post graduate education with courses in Manual Therapy, Orthopaedics, Acupuncture, Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation Training, as well as Business Management. Lori passed her Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI) Exams in 1993 having completed the full curriculum for Acupuncture Training with the AFCI. Lori was a Demonstrator/Instructor for the AFCI for several years. Lori is committed to providing quality physiotherapy services and recently completed a half marathon to raise funds for The Arthritis Society Joints In Motion.

Ashley Bellefontaine, BScPT

Ashley graduated from Dalhousie University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She received the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy Award, the Orthopedic Division (NS) Award and the School of Physiotherapy Research Award upon graduation. She works at the Porters Lake Site and has post graduate courses in Manual Therapy, Neural Mobilization, Acupuncture and Movement Impairment Syndromes to assist clients in their recovery.

Tim Brooks, BScPT, BScPE

Tim graduated from Dalhousie University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy, following a Bachelor of Physical Education from UNB in 1998. Tim has post graduate training in temporomandibular dysfunction, acupuncture, movement impairment syndromes and manual therapy. Tim is a former varsity/Canada Games swimmer who is active in skiing, triathalons, and outdoor adventure sports. Tim has been involved in www.givetolive.ca biking from Halifax to Austin, Texas fundraising for cancer. As well, he participated in the age group Triathalon World Championships in Bejiing in 2011.

Shauna Taylor, PT, MScPT, BScKin

Shauna graduated from Dalhousie University in 2008 with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy, following a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2006 from UNB. She recieved the School of Physiotherapy Research Award upon graduation from Dalhousie. Shauna has post graduate training in acupuncture and McKenzie's Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and treatment. Shauna works at the Porters Lake site and enjoys using acupuncture, manual therapy and exercise in conjunction with individual patient goals to assist in recovery.

Julie graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy in 2011. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UNB. Julie has post graduate training in Acupuncture, and is pleased to bring her active and dynamic approach to patient care at the Porters Lake location.

Steve Manley, BAHKin

Steve graduated from St Francis Xavier University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Kinetics. He joined the PhysioLink team in early 2010 and works at the Porters Lake location. Steve enjoys assisting the clients with their personalized gym programs. After joining the Porters Lake location, Steve completed the Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation Training and has been active volunteer coaching Bantam Hockey, as well as continuing to play himself.

Leah Sharpe, RMT

Leah joined the PhysioLink Team in 2009, bringing with her 12 years experience as a Registered Massage Therapist. Leah has graduate training in myofascial techniques, deep tissue massage and is a certified hot stone therapist. Leah's interest in yoga, alternative health care and the power of positive thinking shape her treatment approach.

Stacey Bellefontaine, RMT

Stacey graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in June 2010 with a certificate in sports massage. She is a member of the Massage Therapist's Associate of Nova Scotia having completed her Board Exams. Stacey has specialized training in Cupping Massage. She has played and coached soccer and table tennis, and continues to play competitive soccer.

Robyn graduated from the Canadian College of Massage Therapy in June 2010 and has completed the "Vodders" Manual Lymph Drainage course. She has also been active as a massage therapist volunteer for the United Way, Juvenile Diabetes and Breast Cancer Fundraising Events. She is excited to be part of the PhysioLink Team and brings her special interest in lymph drainage techniques.

Heather Richard, BScOT (Reg) NS, BScKin

Heather graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, following a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University (1995). Over the past 16 years she has trained in Matheson, KEY, and ARCON Functional Capacity Evaluations and has taken numerous courses on ergonomics, whiplash and back injuries, repetitive strain injuries, managing chronic pain, developing return to work programs, and the Progressive Goal Attainment Program.

Katherine Tyrell, Registered Dietician

|
Kathryn is a former nurse who completed her nutrition degree at Mount Saint Vincent University in 1993. She received her professional dietician status following her internship at the Victoria General Hospital in 1994. Kathryn opened a private practice in Nutrition Counselling (Nutrition Matters) in May 1996 and has provided both individual and group nutrition counselling services since that time.

Michelle Hilchie, Office Manager

Michelle graduated in 1994 from Dartmouth Career College with honours in Medical Office Management. She joined the PhysioLink team in 1995 and completed further education in computer literacy, human resources and office procedures. As well, she has completed training in weight training, fitness leadership and is certified in fitness testing.

Christine Hallett, Physiotherapy Aide, Administration

Chris completed a Secretarial Diploma in 1974 and has worked extensively in customer service and administration. She has furthered her education with courses in office procedures and hands-on training as a Physiotherapy Aid since joining PhysioLink Porters Lake in 2001. Christine also holds the position of PhysioLink Safety Officer.

Rebecca Romo, Physiotherapy Aide, Administration

Rebecca is a university student and works to assist the physiotherapists as a part time employee and is a valued member of the PhysioLink team. Rebecca plans to pursue a career in health care.

Alice joined the PhysioLink Team at the Mineville Site in June 2011 and maintains the Mineville office. She brings several years experience in Customer Service, as well as management and training in leadership/mentoring.

|
Heather recently joined the PhysioLink Porters Lake location on a part time basis. She brings extensive experience in customer service, office/bookkeeping procedures and insurance, as well as enthusiastic organizational skills. Heather has formal training in Payroll, Computerized Business Education and Insurance Broker.
